Whenever we talk about sharing our faith it can be SUPER intimidating! Most people just think of the ALL OR NOTHING approach where you walk up to someone and tell them that Jesus loves them and died for their sins...does the thought of that make anyone a little nervous? It make me nervous.
Below are some less intimidating ways to share your faith. It's not about converting someone, it's about starting a conversation and leaving the results up to God! Remember, no matter what, you must pray that God gives the person you are talking to an open and willing heart!
1. Pray for Them
If someone tell you something in their life they are dealing with you can offer to pray for them...if your bold enough, you can ask if they'd like you to pray for them while they are still standing there.
2. Share what you did this weekend
How many times have you gone to a church event over the weekend, or attended a Christian conference, and when you get back to school and people ask you what you did you seem to mentioned everything except for the Jesus related things? Just telling someone about your weekend can start a meaningful conversation about God.
3. Ask about their background
It is always interesting to hear about other people's religions and how they were brought up. This can be a great conversation segway to share about your faith, but remember listening is just as important.
4. Wear Jesus Shirts
Do you have a shirt with a bible verse on it, or something related to the bible? If not this is a must! check out notw.com or jcluforever.com, just wearing a t shirt like this can spur an awesome and unexpected conversation with those around you.
5. Post on Facebook
Post bible verses or bible verse pictures on Facebook.
6. Pray for your Food
This is one that I try to do, but it can be a little scary. It's easy when your around others that do the same, but what about when you are out with friends? Conversation starter?... I think so!
7. Set a Christian Ringtone
Change your ringtone to a Christian song. No matter how popular a song is in the Christian world most likely your friends that don't share the same faith will not know what the song is and be curious.
