This friday night I attended a Boston Fashion Week kick-off event at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston in the Seaport District! I arrived just before sundown, but my fellow blogger friend Valerie of TheSweetSeed.com and I were determined to get some outfit pics before that natural light was gone for good! I had T-15 minutes to get ready for tonights event after rushing home from work, so I decided to keep it classic with my new Zara trousers, and black crop top from H&M, and Ralph Lauren Satchel (available here). TIP: Pants with vertical stripes are a great way to elongate your legs. How gorgeous is this location!? Love the mix of ocean and skyline.
The event was hosted by Boston Globe's Style Magazine, complete with gift bags, and a copy of their latest addition. We heard from their editor and stylist about what goes on behind the scenes of a photoshoot. Personal Shockers: They shoot 16 hour days to get a few photos they are actually going to use, also that the most important thing is the chemistry between the stylist, model and photographer, I'm guessing the underline word there is trust! Highlight: I loved being able to share with other bloggers and attendees about the large and crucial role that faith plays in My Sunday Dress.
There was a portion of the event dedicated to BOLD looks, I think they definitely accomplished that goal in the photo below. All of these outfits were designed by students at Boston schools. Can't say I'm feeling the face chains, but I now my sister Jaclyn would be all over that body jewelry! Thanks so much for reading! xox, Joelle
